Caring in
the community since 1987
Welcome to Irvine & Troon Cancer Care
Irvine & Troon Cancer Care is a voluntary organisation totally supported by patients, friends, family and local clubs with all money raised given back to patients in the form of free transport. We offer support to those facing the problems of cancer by providing a patient transport service and information about locally available services.
Our aims are to support cancer patients and their families through the trauma of the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and to help with cancer related problems. We have been operating and providing support in both the Irvine and Troon areas since 1987 and our main aim is to ensure that help is readily available for everyone who needs it. Originally formed as Irvine Cancer Care, we changed our name in 2013 to better reflect the communities that we serve.
Our Patient Transport Service both office and drivers are manned by volunteers. All our volunteer staff are fully PVG checked by Disclosure Scotland. Our drivers use their own vehicles. We offer to transport patients and where possible their escort to all hospitals and clinics in Glasgow, Edinburgh and throughout Ayrshire. Patients are collected from their homes, accompanied to hospital and taken home again after treatment. This service is especially useful for patients who feel unwell, those living in rural areas, the elderly and parents taking their children for treatment. We also provide transport to the hospice and to appointments for all therapy sessions.
